Please put your name(s) in the notes area for the guest list. If
you can, add about $.50 per ticket to cover the transaction fees.

Subject: GIG-PROJECTS: rabbit funding launch!
Date: Wed, 12 Apr 2006 19:13:39 -0700
(exceptionally crossposted, apologies for multiples)
so, we've been digging into the planning of the white rabbit fundraiser,
the brainstorms are flying and it's getting silly, i mean, exciting. very
exciting.
there's a few preliminary things i wanted to go over on all the lists,
but after this point, most discussion will take place on the weirderland
list-- so if you want to be involved in the planning and are not already
signed on, do so by going to:
http://lists.topica.com/lists/weirderland
if you have problems subscribing contact: doc AT docsloft DOT com. yeah,
topica's been a bit screwy.
so here's the low down on the hare raising event:
1. concept:
the idea is a "talent vs. no-talent show" and a series of auctions,
plus fine wine & goddamn scotch tasting, gourmet eats & bake sale,
and whatever other jackassery we can come up with to part you and your
bucks for a good cause. there will be plenty of opportunity for low-commitment
participation by contributing your talents, non-talents, and/or auction
items (did someone say lap dance from MattShaw?) we'll be posting more
info soon on how you too can get your jackass on.
2. venue:
SmashLabs has been graciously offered up, though there will be limited
space. we expect to make this an RSVP/guest list only event.
3. date:
mark your calendars for SATURDAY JUNE 17th! as far as we've been able
to figure, it's the only date soon enough that has no major community
conflicts-- but if we're wrong and you want to shout at someone, shout
at me.
4. seed funds
a few people have offered just straight up donations to the project, and
for this we'll be setting up a donations web page-- i'll let you know
when it goes live. we are also considering a pre-event auction of custom
fur ponchos by Doc, and Millie and Laura have tossed out the possibility
of "Get Porked for the Bunny: A BBQ Fundraiser for the DocProject"
at Villa Vulva. watch this space for more info soon!
5. crew:
we've got a nice little team growing, with a lot of energy and dedication
for the project, but we'll need a bit of assistance to pull it all off.
i've heard a lot of enthusiastic rumblings-- so please step up if you
think you can offer anything (yes anything!) most crews will need only
about a 5-10 hour commitment, but just tell us what you can take on. we've
made a list of tasks/teams that we think will make it all come together.
Heidi is heading up the auction, Belinda graphic design, and ScottV clean
up crew. Millie, Laura, and i will fill in the blanks for any team where
no lead steps up. so if you want to lead or just assist, match your skills
/ interests / energies to the list:
talent show
auction
stage/lighting/sound tech
music/entertainment
event promotion/copy writing
food
bar
set up crew
clean up crew
graphic design & signage
decorations
plus we need one of each:
account manager
stage manager
so let us know what you're up for-- organizers and minions equally welcome.
tell us your area(s) of interest, what kind of time you could commit,
and when (before, during, and/or after the event). just drop an email
to me & Laura:
isa AT psymbiote DOT org, lsmart1 AT adelphia DOT net
you can also direct to us any comments, questions, suggestions, or just
words of support. i'm sure we have no idea what we've gotten ourselves
into, but we're pretty excited about it. thanks for all the love you've
put out to the weirderland projects, which makes this all seem so very
doable, even from out here in the stix.
feel free to pass this message on to other villains and FrOGs who might
not be on these lists.
xx
isa

Subject: [Gigsville] Pork-a-Bunny Party, Saturday May 13, 2006

Pork-a-Bunny
Party, Saturday May 13, 2006
We're late! We're late! We need $8,000-$10,000 to fund the White Rabbit
art car and, well, we need to get moving on it. What better way than with
pork? And beer? Lots and lots of beer!
You know you love piggy goodness. You know you love bunnies. You know
you love cock-lovin' lesbians firing up a grill. So, due to popular demand,
Milly is going to whip up a batch of the secret sauce and start marinating.
It's time for the "Pork-a-Bunny" Party
Save the date: Saturday May 13, 2006 5pm-whenever
Venue: The fabulous Villa Vulva in beautiful Highland Park.
$15 gets you a meal and beer for as long as it lasts.
$10 gets you a meal.
But wait! There's more! We'll have a cash bar for those of you who want
something a little harder. We mean alcohol you gutter minds!
But wait! There's more! We'll be auctioning off a couple of very choice
items to get your appetite whetted for a bigger auction in June.
But wait! There's more! We'll also have entertainment. And fire! Did I
mention fire?!? We'll have that too. Nudity is optional. Porcine or bunny
related costumes encouraged.
We need to know how much food to prepare. That means:
YOU MUST RSVP BY MAY 10.
ADVANCE PAYMENT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
YOUR ADVANCE PAYMENT IS YOUR RSVP.
Otherwise you'll have to pay much more at the door. You will also need
to grovel singing like Porky Pig while wearing a pink snout and furry
ears before you gain admittance. We mean it.
Worst of all, there just might not be enough food left for you.
TO RSVP:
Paypal seminalrabbit at infodiva dot com.
OR cash or check made out to Laura Smart and sent to:
Pork-a-Bunny
219 N. Avenue 66
Los Angeles, CA 90042
All proceeds go towards funding the White Rabbit art car.
You couldn't possibly have more fun for this price on a Saturday night.
Do please come.
Thank you for your patronage of the arts, much love!

Rabbit is a Doc's Loft Project.
